Shri Shivaji College of Education is one of the leading academic and dynamic institution of Shri Shivaji Education Society, Amravati in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra State. It was established in 1960. But considering the importance of Physical.Education, the Faculty of Physical Edu., was added to it in 1975.

We must proudly mention here that Dr. Panjabrao alias Bhausaheb Deshmukh the first union Agriculture Minister of independent India; a great visionary, academician and social reformer was the founder president of Shri Shivaji Education Society. Since then the institution has made its mark in the field of education not only through the quality, quantity and diversity of students it has produced but also by the social commitment it has never compromised with.

Success comes to those, who work hard and stays with those, who don't rest on the laurel of the past. Our institution have been a standing example for reaching success and sustaining it . Our college has made an excellent progress in the field of teacher training in Education and Physical Education, games and Sports, Yoga Education and Cultural Activities. Students studying in the institution belong to different states of the country, so it is one of the well-known institution in India.

The motto of the college is “Prajwalito Dhyanmay Pradip:” NAAC accreditation was completed in 2005 and it was accredited with B++ Grade.

The magnificent Building of our college stands on a wide expense of 16 acres of land with well equipped laboratories, Class rooms, Play grounds, well stocked library having broad band internet connection and Computer facility in the service of students. Not only this but the college is also having its Yoga department and health centre which is continually serving for the physical fitness. Along with this the college have its own Research cell which provide guidance to Research Scholars of M. Phil. and Ph.D.

At present college is running B.Ed., B.P.Ed.[One year] , B.P.E.[Three Years], D.Y.Ed. [One Year] and C.Y.Ed. [Three Months] etc. courses. College is up-graded as college for Teacher Education in 2004 by H.R.D. of Indian

It has also the study centre of B.Ed., M.A., M.Com., M.Sc., M.Phil[Educational Communication] virtual class room., D.S.M., M.Phil in Edu.& Physical Education, Yoga teacher affiliated to Y.C.M.O.U., Nasik [M.S.]

More over the college is having its own Boys & Girls Hostels in the campus of the institution which are more safe, comfortable and suitable. Judo Gymnasium, badminton, swimming pool are the additional facilities in the service of the students and society for Physical fitness and good health.
